Parent/Carer and Community Helpers
Come In And Help Out In The School! Volunteer your time as a parent helper.
Who Can Come In And Help In The School?
We encourage and welcome parents, grandparents and carers as well as other members of our school families to volunteer at our school.
Here at Harrysmuir Primary we value the contribution parent helpers and other members of our school community can make to enhance the learning opportunities for our children, as well as the support they can give to enhancing the environment. We appreciate that some school activities could not take place without the support of our extended school community.
What Can I Do To Help In The School?
There are many ways in which you can offer support and help within the school. This could be reading with a small group of children, supporting on school trips, running an After School Club or helping in the Library or Garden. Volunteers with a special skill, which they could share with the children, are also most welcome.
I'm In! What Do I Have To Do Now?
Contact our school office, or your child's teacher first of all and let them know what you are interested in doing. Harrysmuir Primary is committed to safeguarding our pupils. All regular volunteers are required to be a member of the PVG Disclosure Scheme. This is to ensure the safety of all the children in our school. You can have a look at our PVG Frequently Asked Questions (PDF) [435KB] (opens new window) if you require further information.
We look forward to seeing you in the school!
