Pupil Voice
We have a number of whole school Responsibility groups, as well as a number of Upper School groups.
Pupil Council
Harrysmuir Pupil Council meetings are held at lunchtime on the last Wednesday of each month. Each class from P1-7 has elected a class representative. Representatives for the school year 2022-23 are:
Class | Pupil |
---|---|
P1 | |
P1/2 | |
P2 | |
P2/3 | |
P3A | |
P3B | |

Representatives bring any concerns or suggestions along to the meeting and discuss these with other members. Our Senior Leadership Team along with our School Captains help facilitate the meetings and encourage children to express their views clearly. Ideas are then shared with our Head Teacher in order to drive forward changes in our school community.
Eco Committee & Hedgehog Champions
The Eco Committee and Hedgehog Champions look at and discuss global and eco issues, as well as identifying areas for improvement within the school in regards to the gardens, playground and eco-issues. It is run by Mrs Carder. The children learn about Global Citizenship, Fairtrade, Eco and gardening. Children have lots of fun working and campaigning as a team and letting the whole school know what we are doing on our noticeboard and by going round and talking to all the classes. Each class has a representative.
Reading Ambassadors
Our Reading Ambassadors work with Mrs Fairley in order to promote a positive reading culture within the school and across our learning community. We were awarded our Bronze Reading accreditation earlier this year (2022).
Digital Leaders
The Digital Leaders meet weekly during a lunch time to learn new skills and develop their knowledge about digital issues. They are a group of children from P5-7. Pupils can apply to be a Digital Leader at various times throughout the year.
